Business Manager

Maintain overall office operations by overseeing accounting, human resources, and information technology. Success will be measured via accurate financial reporting, effective cost saving measures, HR legal compliance, and successfully leveraging technology in order to improve company profitability and efficiency.

Job Duties
  • Work closely with the President to provide monthly and quarterly financial updates on company profitability. This will be done primarily by updating the Work-In-Progress report as well as preparing financial statements.
  • Work with project managers on a monthly basis to send out billings
  • Monthly review the company’s books to ensure completeness and accuracy of accounting
  • Weekly review Business Operations Assistant’s work for completeness and accuracy
  • Regularly review contracts and expenditures to spot cost saving opportunities
  • Work with CPA firm to oversee annual review and preparation of tax return
  • Oversee human resources to ensure employees are well cared for and the company is legally compliant
  • Work with managers to advertise for open positions, review resumes, and interview candidates
  • Oversee all IT functions of the company to ensure all hardware & software systems are running smoothly and the company is leveraging technology to the fullest extent
  • Report to company President
  • Manage all non-construction personnel
  • Serve as a member of Senior Management staff group
Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration
  • CPA license is preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting, HR, or management
  • Construction industry experience is preferred
  • Advanced technology skills
  • Ability to critically evaluate and recommend improvements to processes or situations
  • Ability to handle unexpected situations and independently problem solve
  • Articulate and confident communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Proficient with construction job costing software (experience with Viewpoint Vista is a plus)

Pre-Construction\Estimating Manager

Responsible for managing all pre-construction activities on building projects ranging in size from $500,000 – $25,000,000. Also responsible for estimating tasks necessary to meet the pre-construction schedule. Work with architects, subcontractors, suppliers, owners, and internal staff to deliver results that exceed client expectations, help build long-term relationships, and meet company profit goals.

Job Duties
  • Develop preliminary budgets for projects
  • Prepare construction schedule for estimating purposes, resolve staffing requirements, and plan logistics with the project manager
  • Assist in the procurement and management of design consultants for design/build projects
  • Develop and present detailed take-offs and accurate estimates
  • Review drawings, specifications, and other construction documents and communicate to others involved in the project regarding construction problems, completeness of information, and potential risks involved in the job
  • Prepare general conditions estimate and review with project manager
  • Prepare preliminary, schematic, design development and construction estimates and participate in the value engineering process
  • Support Business Development in proposal presentation and aid in building client and industry relationships
  • Mange prequalification of subcontractors, and assist the project manager in evaluating subcontractor proposals in preparation of subcontracts
  • Assist the project manager in buying-out the project
  • Maintain current estimating records and unit pricing
  • Reports to the operations manager, however expected to often work independently
Skills & Qualifications

Construction Project Manager

Provide overall management of $250,000 – $25,000,000 new construction projects from preliminary design to final delivery by collaborating with architects, subcontractors, suppliers, and owners to deliver results that exceed client expectations and meet company profit goals.

Job Duties
  • Develop and implement construction project schedule to meet contractual obligations and to match team size and skill
  • Facilitate communications between field staff, suppliers, customers, subcontractors, and office management
  • Provide effective management of employee, subcontractor, and vendor performance
  • Manage project budget to guarantee cost control
  • Review job cost reports on monthly basis and work with the Business Manager to develop monthly billing applications
  • Build positive client relationships by identifying and balancing client expectations while maintaining project objectives
