Willow Valley Communities engaged CCS Building Group to construct the highlight of the Providence Park community, its Clubhouse, which would feature amenities for all ages to have fun together. In its typical design build approach, the team at CCS worked alongside Willow Valley Communities from the inception of the project to ensure the owner’s vision of creating an intergenerational environment where Willow Valley residents could build relationships with friends and family was fulfilled.
Encompassed in the Clubhouse’s 30,000 square feet is a vast array of amenities including a six lane bowling alley, sports center designed around pickleball courts and including volleyball, badminton and exercise equipment, golf simulator and vintage arcade featuring popular games from recent decades. In addition, the building features Willow Valley’s first bar and wine locker area that serves the adjoining restaurant and card room. CCS Building Group worked diligently to tie together each of these vastly different components of the building into one beautiful, seamless product. The central feature of the building is a circular staircase detailed with prefinished walnut trim that connects both levels of the building while complementing the center line of the building and the beautiful view it provides of the surrounding outdoor spaces.
The Clubhouse, sitting on what was the Harnish Farm at Willow Valley, was strategically placed to accommodate outdoor amenities as well. CCS worked with the owner to create an outdoor pool and spa area that was designed to fit in-between the Clubhouse and the Harnish Farmhouse. The placement was extremely important to the goal of the outdoor space which was to appeal to all age groups that would use the space – from grandchildren using the pool to residents using the spa or lounging poolside to tennis players using the adjacent Har-Tru clay courts. Additionally, the placement allowed for people accessing the pool and tennis area to utilize a walk-up window to the snack bar within the Clubhouse while enjoying the outdoor amenities.
Throughout the course of this eleven month project, CCS Building Group not only actively managed the construction of the job and the changes that come with a project of this magnitude, but it went above and beyond the role of general contractor. CCS was heavily involved in the procurement and installation of furniture and accessory items throughout the indoor and outdoor spaces of the Clubhouse. In addition, CCS played an integral role in facilitating the training of client’s employees to manage and maintain the new equipment necessary for such a diverse building. Finally, CCS was able to provide cost savings to the owner throughout the project in a variety of ways including using refurbished bowling equipment and flooring in addition to sourcing out products that met design criteria but more importantly, stayed within budget.
