Overview

In response to recent industry trends, Willow Valley Communities lowered their entrance age to 55, creating greater demand for larger independent living residential units on their campus. As a result, Willow Valley Communities contracted CCS Building Group to design and build Providence Park, a community that would attract the younger retiree and foster the lifestyle they want to live. The first phase of Providence Park encompassed 42 cottage units in four different styles, ranging from 1,700 to 2,000 square feet. These cottages, set on approximately 14 acres of what was previously the Harnish Farm, would add residential type housing to Willow Valley’s Manor campus, something that the primarily institutional housing campus had not previously seen.

The Providence Park Cottages were wildly popular, selling out quickly, due to their close proximity to the amenities of Providence Park as well as their bright and open, single story living space. They boasted large windows to allow natural light and 11 foot ceilings to promote an open feel as well as screened in porches and two car garages. CCS managed the 14 month project with great success, opening the residences in 3 phases, in spite of facing significant rock excavation challenges in addition to traffic challenges produced by adjoining Route 222 and surrounding active resident roads within the Willow Valley campus.
